Moving Companies
We have used so many moving companies
Submitted by ralph on Sat, 12/15/2007 - 12:22.Since we made that great move from Johannesburg to New York without any problems last year we have been inundated with calls asking us for the names of moving companies. We really did have good experience with the 3 moving companies involved in our move and we have no hesitation in recommending them personally to our friends. Over the years we have been involved with many moving companies. That’s what comes of working in the Energy Business, you are always changing countries. Many of the moving companies we used so many years ago are no longer in the business.
Best of all the moving companies was “Get Moving!” who moved us from Sydney, Australia to Hamburg, Germany in the eighties. They are no longer around but we will never forget the excellent service they provided us. Moving companies come and go and it seems to be a rather unstable industry - here today and gone tomorrow, if you like, but the good moving companies are all huge businesses. Today with the development of the Global Village and with so many people moving regularly all over the planet, personal and company moving has become big business.
Who needs moving companies?
Submitted by ralph on Mon, 11/05/2007 - 21:13.The big question is: who needs moving companies? The answer to this question is really connected to the definition of moving companies. Of course the first thing which jumps into your mind is that of huge trucks conveying people to new homes in new regions. However, moving companies can come in an entire range of formats. You can really include in this framework tiny motor bikes which deliver newspapers in the morning or parcels to the office, up to the huge airfreight companies such as FedEx. In other words moving companies come in all shapes and sizes. The point is that when you break down the framework of moving companies into their components you end up with an array of transportation means. Now what this all comes down to is that virtually every person needs a means of conveying something at some point in time and that means moving companies are for everybody. Once this macro framework of moving companies has been elucidated it becomes ever clearer why and who need moving
companies. From the elite business class with his need for airfreight moving companies down to the retired clerk waiting for his biked in newspaper we are all in need of moving companies.
When It Comes To Moving Services Always Make Sure There Is Agreement Beforehand
Submitted by ralph on Sun, 10/14/2007 - 16:57.Moving services can be a problem when there is no agreement beforehand as to which moving services are expected and which moving services are being offered. This can happen when you are dealing with a company that does not specialize in the moving services that you in fact need and you don't really know that.
But this can be avoided if you seek your moving services over the Internet and deal with companies that offer the moving services that you really are in need of. For example, say you are planning to move across the country but you have approached a mover who only moves people locally. Than the moving services that are being offered are not the same as the moving services that are being sought. But if you were to go to the Internet and only look for long haul movers than this kind of confusion over moving services could probably be avoided.
So now we know that there are all types of moving services and it is important to know exactly, which moving services you are looking for before you start seeking moving companies that offer those moving services. If you don't do it this way like so many others you may end up with the wrong moving services that are not the moving services that you were looking for.
Moving companies and corporations
Submitted by ralph on Sun, 10/14/2007 - 16:56.Quite a number of moving companies have merged and amalgamated into veritable empires. These corporations are out to corner the market in all that's connected to moving companies. They get their claws into every transporting and conveying deals being clinched. All this means that the small individual consumer has to be on his or her toes not to fall prey to any evil trickery plotted by these monster moving companies. In order not to overawe you and put you off many of these giant moving companies keep business, on the surface, running under their individual company names rather than use their one large corporation title. In this manner we gentle folk assume they are normal moving companies out to make a living like all of us. However, you should beware, because the giant moving companies can promise you the world but when trouble occurs you can't beat them in any court case. These moving companies are simply to big and powerful holding batteries of lawyers to fend off any claims on
loss or compensation. The best way to check out these moving companies is by accessing their sites on the Internet and delving into their backgrounds and make up.
Discerning the good from the bad moving companies
Submitted by ralph on Mon, 10/01/2007 - 17:40.It's no easy job discerning the good from the bad moving companies, in fact it's extremely difficult. The problem is that we're dealing with two worlds: on the one hand there is the real concrete world of moving companies with their offices down the high street and the other world is the virtual one of online moving companies. When you walk into an office and wheel and deal over prices and terms with the company employees facing you, you are in a recognizable environment, but when you decide to access moving companies over the Web you are dealing with unrecognizable entities. Both spheres have their advantages and disadvantages. For example it's not easy to turn down the offers made by persuasive representatives of actual moving companies in an actual office, even though you are not feeling too good about it. On the other hand it's dead easy to reject a firm on the Internet, for that's – how should we put it – inhuman. There is only one actual method of discerning between reputable
and inferior companies prior to the actual moving and that is by receiving first hand recommendations. Undoubtedly this is not easy but if you intend to contract an actual firm in the real world you are in your rights to demand addresses of these people.
